Proprietor of the Sable network, the codex's invented press-and-broadcast house. The mythology's panels call her section 'deception' and 'the narrative'; the codex's annotators file her as the transmission's answer to a real question — who decides what the public is looking at when it looks up?
Origin
In the codex's telling, an obituary writer who bought a dying wire service with her first inheritance and discovered the house's secret: a wire does not report the day, it schedules it. She is said to keep her first obituary — her own, written as an exercise — framed in the Quiet Room.
The Rise
The Sable network's rise is told in the codex as a series of coincidences that all broke the same way: the rival's scandal, the competitor's sudden sale, the anchor's timely apostasy. The mythology insists none were coincidences. The codex's annotators note only that the pattern is the portrait — and that the pattern is the genre's, not the record's.
Current Assignment
She holds Seat VI for the deception front: the daily reality, scheduled. Her office decides which of the plan's moves is a headline and which is a silence — the transmissions' 'distraction and emotional management' panels are her programming grid drawn as conspiracy.
The Ritual Contract
Her ritual contract, the codex says, is written in attention: a covenant to keep the public's eyes one degree off the true object, forever, in exchange for the one thing the entities are said to trade in — the first look at tomorrow.

THE RECORD
The Media Baron embodies the canon's best-argued file: that a handful of owners shape the news agenda. Its real shelf: Herman and Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent (1988) and Ben Bagdikian's two counts of the media monopoly (1983 and 2004) — the propaganda model and the fifty-firms-to-five consolidation, both in the Library, both documented. Sable is invented; the concentration she presides over is a matter of record.
